CES recently completed designing a 12,000 sq.ft. combination of new and renovated MEP systems at the Yale New Haven Hospital (YNHH) Specialty Pharmacy located in the Behavioral Health Services Clinic building (BHSH).

This mail order pharmacy and call center is unlike a typical Walgreens, CVS, or Rite Aid. The drugs that are housed in this pharmacy are often very expensive, with limited availability, that treat very complex medical issues. These specialty pharmacies offer more convenience and have the ability to provide patients more education and information on their medications. Patients are now able to fill their specialty prescriptions close to home, at local hospitals, rather than having to go to another state due to limited distribution. CES provided an improved security system to maintain the safety of the drugs because of their limitations and high risk.

CES designed new HVAC systems including a specialty exhaust system for compounding and hazardous drug storage areas, replacement of rooftop units and a cold storage room with a new control system capable of being remotely monitored. Electrical designs include an emergency generator, LED lighting with a networkable lighting control system, and a new addressable fire alarm system throughout the entire building. An all new sprinkler system was added to the entire building with new service extended from the street.
