CES provided MEP/FP engineering design services for the renovation and addition to the Welles-Turner Memorial Library – a building we are quite familiar with.
The latest focus is on a new “Maker Space” addition. The addition includes sprinklers, a 10-ton chiller, VRF system, packaged DOA, modified ductwork, and diffusers for light renovation areas. Additionally, our work provides the library with LED lighting and controls, a permanent generator, and updates to the power and data infrastructure. This brings the library better lighting, daylighting and ventilation, and a modern, updated look conducive for learning and community activities.
Previously, CES provided MEP/FP engineering design solutions for renovations to the check out desk and 2nd floor study carols. CES coordinated and renovated the infrastructure supporting an automated library material collection system. Retrofitting the new sorting equipment into the historic structure was complicated given the limited space.
