The Colorfield

Nestled in the historic section of Austin, this secure 58,000 sf building consists of 10 luxury condominiums with private elevators and terraces. The post tension concrete construction building with all glass facade make the building a stunning showpiece in the heart of the city, within walkable distance to downtown amenities.

The 4 story building greets visitors with an expressionist style art wall depicting the definition of Colorfield. The first level contains gated covered parking for residents and their guests. Floors two and three have four spacious units on each floor. Two penthouse residences with private gardens and pools and a community rooftop pool complete the fourth floor.

CES provided MEP/FP engineering design services for this new construction project. Due to the all glass facade, locating discrete HVAC systems proved challenging. MEP systems include single phase VRF, ERV, electric water heaters, and LED lighting. The garage has a NFPA 13 Dry Fire Protection System and residences contain NFPA 13R fire protection. Wet standpipes in stairwells feed fire protection systems in residences avoiding the need for a fire pump to compensate for low water pressure.
