This retail flagship project involved the renovation of a three-story building formerly occupied by a printing company into a new store for J. Press in New Haven. CES provided full MEP/FP engineering design services for the repositioned space, supporting retail areas, custom tailoring functions, offices, and stock/storage. The design was developed in coordination with Newman Architects to align building systems with the operational needs of a modern retail flagship.
The project required the integration of new building systems within an existing structure while accommodating a change in use from industrial to retail. Mechanical and electrical upgrades supported improved energy performance and flexible retail operations, while plumbing and fire protection systems were coordinated to meet current codes and occupancy requirements. CES’ work focused on delivering reliable, well-coordinated systems that support daily operations and long-term performance within a renovated historic building.
