CES is providing MEP/FP engineering design services for the new 28,000 square foot Center for Active Living in Hingham, MA. This facility replaces the existing 5,500 square foot Senior Center located at Town Hall, which has been undersized and limited in parking capacity for nearly 30 years.
The new single-story building is sited at Bare Cove which was identified as the optimal location through a comprehensive feasibility study effort. The design incorporates large windows to maximize natural daylight and includes over 200 parking spaces.
The MEP/FP systems are designed to support energy-efficient operation, occupant comfort, and safety, integrating advanced HVAC solutions, efficient electrical distribution, and comprehensive fire protection measures. These systems enable the facility to meet modern performance standards while accommodating the expanded programmatic needs of the community.
The expanded Center addresses the community’s growing demand for program space and services by providing a modern, accessible environment optimized for operational efficiency and occupant comfort.
