Serving approximately 8,000 undergraduate students, this historic campus dining hall renovation modernized a primary student gathering space while preserving its distinctive architectural character. The project reconfigured seating to support a variety of dining styles, enhanced connections to adjacent outdoor spaces, and introduced a Chef’s Station for special events, guest chefs, and student programming.
CES provided mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection engineering design for the renovation, including a new HVAC system serving both the dining hall and adjacent food servery. The design improved occupant comfort and cooling performance while carefully integrating modern building systems within the historic space while minimizing impacts to its original architectural features.
