This project involved the renovation of an existing 1,284 square foot lounge on the first floor of a historic building into a new state of the art electronic gaming facility for student recreational and competitive use. Fitting a modern gaming suite into a historic lounge was challenging; creative pathways were needed for power, data, and piping to get the space to function properly, while also having the right look and feel.

This state of the art e-gaming lounge has 18 gaming stations setup for individual, team, or competition gaming across the internet. The lounge is available for undergraduate students and also hosts tournaments and team gaming events. The mechanical room is located in the center of the lounge and used as part of the architectural design, called the “Brain”. Color changing LED lighting with artistic accents is used throughout to enhance the e-gaming look and experience. Chilled water fan coil unit provides cooling. Exposed ductwork was incorporated as part of the architectural design.
