This three-story 1956 high school underwent an extensive renovation and expansion, which included new science labs and media center in the addition and new arts, music, general classroom and office renovations in the existing space.
This project, designed with AutoDesk Revit 2010, was completed in 7 phases while the building was occupied. Almost every space in this building was renovated in some capacity.
One major design challenge was to provide full air conditioning despite low ceiling heights and minimal space for mechanical equipment. To address this, new air conditioning was provided through packaged rooftop units with energy recovery wheels, sending pre-tempered air to several Daikon ductless units throughout the facility. New DDC controls were also part of the scope for this project.
