The Bloomfield Center Fire District consists of three company stations located on Wintonbury Avenue, Duncaster Road and Tunix Avenue. Company 3, a volunteer station originally built in 1962, was a one-story 2 bay building. It lacked training areas and sufficient staff space to meet modern requirements and accommodate equipment. The 2022 facility assessment led to the decision to replace it with a new construction fire station.
CES is providing comprehensive MEP services for the new single story, five bay fire station. Challenged with access only to single phase power, the design was still able to incorporate the following systems: ERV/VRF, gas fired boiler for perimeter heat + radiant flooring, wet sprinkler system, gas fired water heaters, vehicle exhaust system, and LED lighting. The new fire company integrates power and technology for all critical fire station and emergency operations functions.
