Middletown, CT – Consulting Engineering Services (CES), a leading multi-disciplined MEP/FP engineering firm with eight offices nationwide, is pleased to announce a series of leadership promotions that reflect the firm’s continued growth, technical excellence, and commitment to developing talent from within.

Leadership Advancements

Annette Ben-Habib, PE, has been promoted to Principal. An analytical and strategic leader, Annette plays a key role in CES’ South Florida office, managing complex projects across both public and private sectors.

Her portfolio includes high-end luxury residential work throughout South Florida, including a 15,000-square-foot waterfront estate in Indian Creek, recognized for its technical complexity and integrated design requirements. In the public sector, Annette led the remediation of a newly constructed fire station in Fort Lauderdale that was experiencing severe humidity, temperature control, and mold issues that prevented occupancy. CES was brought in as a critical intervention, successfully resolving the environmental challenges and enabling firefighters to move from temporary housing to a safe, fully functional facility.

Prior to joining CES seven years ago, Annette served as Director of Sustainable Facilities for the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation. She is a licensed Professional Engineer and holds certifications as a Building Commissioning Professional and Energy Manager.

Eric Gebrian, PE, has been elevated to Principal. A collaborative and solutions-oriented leader, Eric is based in CES’ Connecticut office and serves as a key resource for sustainable design initiatives across the firm.

Eric has contributed to a wide range of institutional projects throughout the Northeast, including work for Yale University and Columbia University. He is passionate about delivering sustainable building solutions that are practical, maintainable, and achievable within common budget parameters. He remains actively engaged in advancing the profession by staying current on sustainable design trends, speaking at industry conferences, mentoring staff, and serving as an instructor at the Yale School of Architecture.

Among his most meaningful projects are those with a personal connection, including renovating the HVAC system at a West Hartford school he once attended and where his children will now enroll. He is also currently working on the Sherman School project, now under construction, where the design team guided the town through two referendums and multiple public meetings to build community consensus. Portions of the school that were previously closed are scheduled to reopen next year.

Additional Promotions

CES also recognizes the following team members for their professional advancement:

  • Associate: Matt Couciero, PE
  • Project Manager: John Winfield
  • Senior Engineers: Elias Peralta-Cruz; Ryan Erland, PE
  • Senior Designer: Kevin Kane

“These promotions reflect the forward momentum of our firm,” said Mike Walsh, President of CES. “Our continued success is driven by the talent, dedication, and leadership of our people. Each of these individuals has earned their advancement through technical excellence, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting others. We are proud of what they’ve accomplished and excited about the role they will play in shaping the future of CES.”
