Following a 2022 feasibility study, the Town of Belmont replaced the 50-year-old Viglirolo Skating Rink with a modern, all-electric skating facility serving community programs, high school athletics, and seasonal camps. The approximately 37,000-square-foot, steel-framed building features a regulation 200-foot by 85-foot ice sheet, team locker rooms, public restrooms, bleacher seating, and a concession area supporting adjacent athletic fields.

The facility incorporates advanced energy-efficient systems, including an all-electric, CO₂-based heat-pump refrigeration system with heat recovery, energy recovery strategies, and infrastructure for future photovoltaic (PV) solar installation, supporting fossil-fuel-free operation and long-term net-zero readiness.

CES provided comprehensive mechanical, electrical, lighting, plumbing, and fire protection (MEP/FP) engineering design services, including a 200 kW electric boiler, 51-ton desiccant rooftop unit, LED lighting, and 800A electrical service.
