Plumbing/Fire Protection Engineer
The Mechanical Engineer PFP is responsible for the design and layout of plumbing and fire protection systems.
Essential Functions
- Design plumbing and fire protection portions of a project using engineering formulas and skills for ensuring safety and technical accuracy.
- Review design project for code compliance.
- Identify and select equipment from appropriate manufacturing catalogs for specific applications.
- Ability to perform on-site investigations and surveys prior to design and during construction.
- Coordinate the contract documents between engineering disciplines for architects.
- Provide technical support to contractors throughout construction.
- Perform own drafting/design using AutoCAD and/or Revit and reviews own work for accuracy.
- Perform hydraulic calculations using computer software.
- Coordinate utility requirements with local utility companies including obtaining hydrant flow test data for project sites.
Qualifications
- B.S. degree preferred in mechanical engineering with 2 to 5 years of job-related experience.
- Ability to draft using AutoCAD and Revit software.
- Strong oral and written skills.
- Must be able to handle multiple tasks effectively.
