The Post Hotel is a transformative project that blends historic preservation with modern design in the heart of downtown Bridgeport. The 36-room boutique hotel repurposes a classical 1892 red brick building—originally industrial in use—and unites it with a striking new five-story addition, creating a vibrant destination that will support the revitalization of the city’s downtown.

CES provided engineering design services for the hotel’s amenity spaces, which are central to the guest and community experience. Our scope included MEP systems for a range of spaces that will bring the hotel to life, including a lower-level speakeasy, a rooftop bar and lounge, a ground-floor restaurant, a coffee shop, and multiple retail areas.

The amenity areas are designed to serve both guests and locals, offering spaces that are rich in character and technically complex, from ventilation strategies in the below-grade speakeasy to systems integration in the rooftop bar and energy-efficient lighting throughout. CES worked closely with the project team to ensure modern comfort while respecting the historic fabric of the original structure. The design of the hotel was also approved by the State Historic Preservation Office of Connecticut.

When complete, The Post Hotel will serve as a dynamic hospitality and cultural hub that fuses old and new and elevates Bridgeport’s growing creative and culinary scene.
