This new fire station was constructed with the intention of consolidating the town’s two older stations and improving service response times within Milford. As a career-first station, housing a minimum of eleven personnel, the station serves the east and northeast sections of town. The new building was designed around a four bay “drive-through” apparatus room, which separates the living and sleeping quarters.
CES provided full MEP/FP design for the new construction. The domestic hot water system consists of instantaneous gas fired water heaters and pumped recirculation systems which serve the entire building’s domestic hot water needs. A wet pipe fire protection sprinkler system was also installed throughout the building. The mechanical system includes a variable refrigerant volume system and a new BACNET Building Management System to control mechanical and select electrical systems.
